Institutional asset manager:
Review of the implementation of a new asset management platform
Why did the client approach us?
Six months before the scheduled go-live date, the client’s business and project team raised concerns about the feasibility of the schedule. Management therefore asked us for a review of the project with the goal of identifying measures to ensure that the go-live date could be achieved.
How did we address the challenge?
In the initial phase of the review we conducted workshops with each project stream to assess the status of the project, and to identify measures for its optimization. We recommended changing the data migration strategy from an automatic to a semi-automated approach, and to significantly increase the testing efforts. In the second phase, we reviewed the implementation of the measures and assessed their success.
Why was it interesting and enjoyable?
Project reviews provide the opportunity to address the fundamentals of large projects, in this case for a successful major application roll-out, and to learn about the governance mechanisms needed to steer large-scale projects.
